Telephoning the surgery-I want to talk to a real person!
We have listened to your comments & feedback about our phone system. Whilst it is quite clear that many of you feel that we have improved our phone system there are still a number of people who find it frustrating to use.
Why do you have a long complicated menu?
Our research shows that between 30-70 calls can come in some days to our practice secretary and practice manager. By having a menu we can divert these calls away from reception which means that receptionists can answer calls more quickly. On average our calls are answered very quickly-within a few seconds. There are some very busy times e.g. first thing in the morning-that's why we encourage patients NOT to call in first thing in the morning unless absoutely necessary.

But I don't want to use the menu....
That's fine! There is now a new number that you can dial to avoid the menu-please see below:

TO SPEAK TO THE PRACTICE MANAGER 01394 694 860
The menu will remain in place on the main surgery number 01394 670 107
- To speak to a receptionist (option 1)
- To speak to a medical secretary (option 2)
- To speak to the practice manager (option 3)
- Up to date practice news and announcements (option 4)
We've made it simpler....
When you press option 1 on the telephone menu, there is no longer a sub menu to confuse you.
Sort it in one call!
When you call we will always try not ask you to phone back on another day for a same day appointment. Our receptionists are empowered to always offer you an option, please bear in mind the advice given on our appointments page
